RATIONALE //
This 1920s home still retained some of its original features which I convinced the client to restore and enhance where possible.
The brief was for something contemporary and easy to live in that had a bit of ‘wow’ factor. My clients like to entertain and were very keen to create a large open space with the kitchen as a hub.
By choosing a palette of timber, black and white with blue as a highlight colour we have created an easy to live in space that includes pops of individuality and flair that are unique yet subtle.

My clients wanted a home with a Scandinavian touch that would be light and open and would be the perfect backdrop for a steadily growing collection of fine art.
They have three young children and so needed it to be robust and user friendly.
Engineered Oak floorboards from Tongue’n Groove were used for a cohesive look between the front of the clinker brick house to the new extension at the back.
The walls were kept white and bright to showcase the artwork. The kitchen is the centre of the house and so all appliances were integrated to give a streamlined look with the large island bench becoming a major feature as the absolute epicentre of this light and relaxed house.

Room redesign
WHO //
My client wanted to create a warm and cosy ‘sanctuary’ in their smaller living room as a surprise for his wife’s 40th birthday.
RATIONALE //
The family all love skiing and have a strong connection with Europe. Elements within the rest of the house reflect the style of a ski lodge.
Their front living room was painted in off white and whilst it was serviceable it lacked atmosphere.
I came up with a moodboard and a few furniture selections that were achievable within a small budget and immediate deadline, to create a warm and inviting space that the clients can enjoy as a family or entertain in with friends.

RATIONALE //
The original 1960s cream brick house was kept and used as the ‘children’s wing’. Whilst a huge open plan living, dining, kitchen area was built to take in the beautiful views.
By choosing a natural palette that was warm and bright I created a cohesive design that moved from the old house into the new.
My client had a few key antique pieces that held sentimental value and so we used those as feature pieces and mixed them with modern furnishings to create a textured and inviting space.
The dining area was huge, we sourced a large parquetry table top that was big enough to fit two families. A perfect space for entertaining and enjoying the landscape.

Commercial interior concept and logo redesign
WHO //
Clancy’s Bakehouse is in East Malvern and had a growing clientele of young families who expected and sought modern and new fitouts. They also had a loyal, established list of customers that Clancy did not want to lose.
RATIONALE //
Based on some existing yellow decor in the bakehouse I proposed a simple and elegant palette that would be easy to execute. It would feel homely and give the bakery a modern and current look that was not too much of a departure from where it was.
The logo was redesigned to be bold whilst retaining the ‘baker-man’, which had become a local feature.
